The YU Observer strives to deliver content that is relevant to the broader YU student body it serves. Our team of writers and editors work diligently to write, edit, and publish articles of the highest caliber. It has been brought to our attention that many of our recent copies, distributed on both campuses early this week, have gone missing. In addition, many of the papers have been flipped over, seemingly to hide the image of the pride flag that appeared on the February 2022 edition’s front cover. We are disturbed by these recent events and urge YU security to investigate these incidents in order to ensure that this is not a recurring episode of theft as it was with the YU Commentator.
While the intentions of the individuals who are turning over the papers may be harmless, we as an editorial board take this very seriously. Not only is it extremely disrespectful to both our staff who have worked incredibly hard to produce excellent work as well as to those who have purchased advertisements in our paper, but it is also blatantly homophobic. We will not stand for discrimination of any kind and ask that Yeshiva University holds the relevant people accountable and condemns this offensive behavior.
