Each month, the YU Observer aims to highlight one club available to the YU undergraduate community. For the April 2024 edition, the YU Observer is highlighting the Bowling Society.
Club Name: Bowling Society
Head(s): Josh Asaraf, Reuben Redlich
Relevant Campus(es): Wilf & Beren
What is your club’s mission statement?
Our mission is to create a sanctuary away from the stresses of school and work, offering a space for friendship, laughter, and leisure. We strive to promote the joy of bowling as a means to connect, recharge, and create memorable moments.
Why is this club important?
The Bowling Society is dedicated to welcoming a community where individuals from all walks of life at YU can come together to unwind, relax, and enjoy the sport of bowling.
What inspired you to get involved in/start the club?
We realized last semester that we didn’t fit in with the average YU social scene and we weren’t alone. We decided that bowling was a way for us to create that much-needed social scene. Fortunately, The Bowling Society was a smashing success with our last event surpassing 130 signups.
What are some plans you have for this semester/future semesters?
The Bowling Society had our last event of the semester on April 4 with 130 people attending. We hope to host our kickoff bowling event early next semester.
What is your advice to someone looking to get involved on campus?
Don’t hesitate to ask questions to people with previous campus involvement.
