On June 12, Dr. Selma Botman, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, sent an email to the undergraduate student body of Yeshiva University stating that the university’s plan is to begin the fall semester courses online and transition to in-person courses, with precautions, in mid-October. Dr. Botman followed up on her statement with a clarification:
“Please permit me to clarify my e-mail I sent to the student body on Friday[,] June 12. We are still developing plans in consultation with medical professionals and with city and state officials. The responses to the survey will help us finalize our direction. Specific and concrete plans will be announced in the coming weeks.”
While the original email stated a possible plan to begin the semester online, the university and the professionals involved in the decision may ultimately decide otherwise. The final decision will be made in the coming weeks.
