Commencement to Now Take Place During Finals Week
Originally scheduled for Thursday May 21st, the University’s Commencement will now be held on Sunday May 17th, right in the middle of final exams. However, according to Dr. Chaim Nissel, university dean of students, no finals will take place on the 17th and, if needed, finals will continue to be administered on the 20th and 21st. Also, as a courtesy to graduates and their siblings, the administration hopes to not schedule any finals for the morning of Monday May 18th. The change in date, according to Nissel, was due to reasons relating to the venue, the IZOD Center. After finding no other suitable venue available and no alternative date (either earlier or later) viable, the administration settled on the 17th, though graduates and their peers will be in the middle of finals.
