It’s no secret: our generation is quite opinionated. So what happens when you mix the opinionated and the technologically savvy? An epidemic of shared blog posts that seem to take over the newsfeeds of college students, that’s what. With a plethora of blogs, each with their own trademark features, it is hard to navigate this age of Internet obsession. We decided to make it a little easier for you. Here is an index of the most popular blogs an average SCW student would scroll past in her newsfeed—and maybe even click on to explore.

Originally an American journalist, Allison Kaplan Sommer now lives in Raanana and writes “Routine Emergencies” for the Haaretz Blog Roll. She offers a window into Israeli culture and politics, gender issues, and Israel’s relationship to the Diaspora. If you are into feminism in Israeli politics, Jewish denomination organization news, and Soda Stream ads, this blog is for you! Be sure to check out Haaretz’s other blogs as well.

The Times of Israel covers topics such as Israel and the Region, Jewish Times, Israel Inside, Start Up Israel, an Israel Inside. Their actual blog section features Israeli-American and American writers and freelancers and also some pretty prominent Jewish figures sucha as Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, MK Dov Lipman, and Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz.  TOI has been one of the top breeding grounds for recent debates in Israeli and Jewish society. Everything from campus culture and admissions essays, to college sports, Snapchat, and smart-sounding words for essays in article, blog, or video form. This just for those collegiate sistas! Some parts of the style and beauty sections read like a teen vogue magazine, but what makes this blog unique is that it is houses over 200 HerCampus college chapter blogs written by their respective students, for their respective students featuring campus fashionistas and celeb look-alikes, college sports news, and  advice on how to navigate through school events.
